It’s one of the few fox color mutations also present in the wild, but its wild counterpart is more of a dark brown color and is also very rare. The fox is prized for its dense and incredibly soft fur, which is much shorter than that of red foxes.  \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBluefox is the staple fox fur used for fur garments and other fur items, with the number of pelts available each year far outnumbering any other kind of fox no matter the species. The popularity of bluefox did bring with it some issues, such as various health issues caused by breeding for increasingly larger animals and the loss of diversity in furbearer breeding. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe pelts available on the website are only from small to medium sized arctic foxes, because I’m not comfortable supporting breeding for extreme size in animals. None of the farms I work with breed extremely large animals to the point of them being unhealthy. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBluefox pelts rarely keep their tail. Due to their size and tendency to get very greasy, tails are often removed before air drying pelts at the farm.
