Traceable fur
Back in 2018 I found the (softmount) taxidermy community, a welcoming place for nature enthusiasts like me. Sourcing is a big thing for me, I only support sustainable harvest and humane raising of animals.
Where the taxidermy community was usually decent in showing where the fur originated, the traditional fur industry still had some work to do. Being a much bigger industry than our niche little taxidermy corner of the internet, pelts didn't come with any information about where they came from.
Living in Europe meant being mostly cut off from the (much bigger) US fur and taxidermy industry. I figured that if I was going to source fur, I should make it clear to my customers where these pelts originated. After some years, Orange Lion Fur & Taxidermy was born!
All my farmed fur is from Europe, while most of the wild fur is from the US. I only work with a select few European farms to ensure their animals are treated well. I do not buy Asian or North American farmed fur.
