Collection: Mountable pelts

A mountable pelt is suited for taxidermy. The pelts I sell as mountable are complete and have turned ears (full cartilage), turned nose (full cartilage), split lips and split eyes. The paws contain no bones except the bone holding on to the nail. A pelt not checking all the boxes will have their flaw(s) listed in the description. Mountable pelts are tanned by a professional taxidermist. Suitable for either a softmount or a lifesize mount.

A wallhanger is a pelt not suitable for mounting. This doesn’t necessarily mean the pelt is missing parts, but often it does. Pelts can also be too old to mount or not have the needed “prep work” done on the face (mentioned in the previous explanation). As a default, wallhangers have NO paws.

Note: I can't guarantee mountability if the pelt is stored in improper conditions after purchase. Keep cool and out of sunlight. Best is to wet down any parts you're going to mount (head and legs for a softmount) and freeze. Dry pelts do not keep forever, I only sell pelts as mountable when the pelt was tanned less than one full year ago so I am 100% sure the pelt will mount without issue.
