Collection: Sapphire Frost fox
Sapphire Frost foxes are a steel grey color, bordering on blue. They have replaced regular Sapphire foxes (which are actually not at all related to Sapphire Frost) in the European fur trade because Sapphire Frost is a healthy mutation while regular Sapphire is known for having Chediak-Higashi syndrome.
Sapphire Frost is a hybrid of a Sapphire arctic fox (not to be confused with a Sapphire red fox mutation, the unhealthy one) and a red fox mutation carrying the Pearl gene. Mutations most often used are Pearl, Amber ( = Pearl Burgundy), Fawn Glow ( = Pearl Colicott) and Lavender.
